While I am sitting here at my computer, I can look outside and see what a cold, blustery day we are having. The temperature is about 15 degrees and the wind is coming from the west. It is cold. A good day to sit in the house and have a second cup of hot coffee, tea or hot chocolate.
The weather man reports, the groundhog will not see his shadow on February 2. I am not sure if it's 6 more weeks of winter or 6 weeks until spring. I posted some photos several months ago and you have access to them in the gallery. The only photo I have of a bird is a hawk. Several years ago, a hawk decided that my birdbath was his own personal sanctury. He came everyday for about two weeks. I was fortunate enough to take a closeup of him bathing in my backyard. It was quite a thrill just to watch him.
I saw the hawk today. I am not sure where he is nesting but he has been around for 4 or 5 years now. The only thing I do not like is for him to make a pass through my backyard and grab one of my birds for lunch. I realize he has to eat too but I wish he would not eat my friends. Thanks for responding.
