This flatbread recipe is not completely my own because I adapted it from a Good Housekeeping magazine recipe.
Kudos to the creator of this thrilling-to-the-taste buds recipe.
The Dijon makes it tangy and exciting, while the pears gives the dish a sweet mellow aspect. The turkey brings to the table the good old-fashioned smoked flavor, and the Gouda gives it a real creamy touch, though slightly bitter at the same time.
Although Gouda isn’t Italian (it’s Dutch) it just happens to be one of my absolute favorite types of cheese.
I like it because of the slightly bitter aftertaste. It is so unique
The spinach salad on the side is light and fresh, and the lemon-pepper dressing really makes the flavor pop. I hope you enjoy this weeks’ dish. I loved it !
Turkey Flatbread
Ingredients:
4 flatbreads (pita or nahn)
1 Tbsp. Dijon mustard
1 Bosc pear, cored and sliced
8 oz. sliced turkey breast (smoked or honey roasted)
4 oz. shredded Gouda cheese
1 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice
1 tsp. olive oil
1 bag (5-6 oz) fresh baby spinach
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
Preparation:
1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Arrange flatbread on cookie sheets. Spread Dijon evenly on each flatbread with one-quarter each pear slices, turkey, and cheese. Bake 13-15 minutes or until the cheese melts and begins to brown.
2. Meanwhile, in a large bowl. Whisk lemon juice, olive oil, salt and pepper. Add spinach and toss to coat.
3. Top each flatbread with some spinach salad, or serve the salad on the side.
